For Obsidian + Claude
The Clarity System: turn scattered notes and random AI chats into one system that actually moves you toward your goals.
Get the free Obsidian template that runs The Clarity System for you, built around four steps: Visions, Goals, Tasks, Review.
The template is free. Running it costs less than $1 a day (Claude Pro) on top of Obsidian, which is free.
The Clarity System
Four steps, on repeat, for as long as you need them. No plugin rabbit holes, no fifty-tab setup guide. Your notes live in Obsidian. Claude runs The Clarity System with you, so the two are always working together instead of living in separate apps.
Step 1
Visions
Where you’re actually headed, written in Obsidian so you stop losing it.
Step 2
Goals
The handful of things that get you there this year. Claude helps you break them down.
Step 3
Tasks
What that means for today, not some overwhelming master plan.
Step 4
Review
A five minute check-in where Claude already has the context, so you’re not re-explaining yourself every time.
Everything set up for you, ready to drop in
The free template is a working Obsidian vault structure with Visions, Goals, Tasks, and Review already built and linked together, plus the Claude Code setup that reads those notes and actually uses them. You open it, fill in your own goals, and The Clarity System is designed to be running within about 10 minutes.
- The four core notes, already connected — normally an hour or more to structure yourself
- A daily task view pulling straight from your goals — no manual re-linking
- A ready-to-use CLAUDE.md file that already knows your Visions, Goals, and Tasks, so Claude never starts from zero
- A weekly review note so you check in without overthinking it
Why I built this
I have been using Obsidian for five years, and in that time note taking has helped me reach many of the goals I set myself.
When I tried introducing Obsidian to my friends, I found they never made it stick. They’d start a system, keep it for two weeks, then drop it.
Now, with AI and particularly Claude Code, connecting to Obsidian and working with it regularly is a breeze. The problem was never the tools — it was helping people find the right system to work with them.
That’s why I’m sharing my system as a template for free, to give you a starting place to build your own.
